Seth’s View of Reality – What it is, Who We Are and How We Can Do Better
Seth is a non-physical entity channeled through Jane Roberts and recorded by her husband, Robert F. Butts Jr. According to Seth both Jane and Rob (both now deceased) were aspects of two larger selves known as “Ruburt” for Jane and “Joseph” for Rob. In his writings, Seth often refers to them by these names.
Jane first made contact with Seth September 9, 1963 in a spontaneous burst of ideas after she sat down to write poetry. She came to, scribbling these amazing new ideas down and appropriately titled them: The Physical Universe As Idea Construction. Three months later, on December 8, 1963, after Jane and Rob began experimenting with a Ouija Board for a book Rob suggested on Do-It-Yourself ESP, Seth gave them his name and started dictating what is now known as the Seth Material. The story is described in the first chapter of Jane’s first Seth Book, The Seth Material (1970). Jane died September 5, 1985, and later, Rob married Laurel Davies. Rob died May 26, 2008 and thanks to Laurel and my friend and researcher, Oceanside Rick, we are able to share important excerpts from the Seth Books, which include links back to Amazon.com for readers who want to read more. In one of my ”future” dreams, Seth is a familiar household name with every man, woman and child commonly referring to his ideas on the nature of reality in ordinary conversation.
I started reading Seth Speaks during the Christmas Holidays in 1977, after receiving it as a gift from my wife, Sandra. I credit the Seth material with helping me make sense of life. I hope it helps you too!
