When we let “success” be defined by how much money, power and privilege we accumulate, we put ourselves in a dangerious position. First of all, survival, happiness and self-fulfillment requires a lot more than money, power and privilege; it requires love, honesty, meaning and understanding. In a moment of exasperation, when I asked the universe: “What do I want more than anything else in All That Is?”, the answer that came back was, “Love.” That’s it, I thought; more than anything else in All That Is, I want to love and be loved unconditionally.

Perhaps the world would be less threatened by blind ambition if our definition of success was – be who you love to be and do what you love to do. Why not let love be the light and the way instead of money? Won’t we be better off if we take advantage of natural passion instead of artificial passion, which turns us into automatons, manipulated by the promise of reward and the threat of punishment? Who really wants to be a puppet, dancing to the tune of a puppet master? As Lefty says (http://www.cafepress.com/realtalkworld/6251228): Be true to yourself and all else that matters will follow.
