Out of Body Experiences
Out of body experiences happen naturally in dreams but it’s a different matter when the waking portion of our greater consciousness attempts to travel out of body. To maintain the illusion of waking reality, the outer self or ego must firmly believe in concepts like linear time, space, and gravity. It wouldn’t do for us to float up in the air at random moments or switch from adulthood to childhood at the whim of a thought. To maintain the illusion of life as we know it over time, we must adhere to certain rules. At other levels of consciousness, other rules apply that allow us to organize our experiences in different ways. In dreams, for example, we can be in one place one moment, and another, in the next, without experiencing movement between the two.
